Chatbots as Co-authors?

There's been a lot of 'chat' recently about writers listing chatbots such ChatGPT as co-authors. For me, a chatbot is a tool - like Wikipedia, search engines, books and papers - is a tool. I don't list any of these as authors, I check their veracity and reference them.
